1. Import your music
Drag your files into the project library, or import them from your computer. Accepted formats are MP3, WAV, OGG and M4A. A play button lets you listen to each track before placing it.
2. Place the music on the timeline
- Drag the track from the library onto an audio track in the timeline (Drop audio here).
- Want to layer background ambience and a song? Add a track with + Track: up to three audio tracks play at the same time.
- To chain two songs, put them on the same track and let them overlap slightly: Diapofy automatically creates a crossfade.
3. Cut, shorten, loop
- Shorten: drag the start or end of the clip.
- Cut in two: right-click › Split at playhead.
- Repeat a track that's too short: right-click › Loop.
4. Set volume and fades
Click the audio clip: the right-hand panel shows its settings.
- Volume, from 0 to 100%.
- Fade in and fade out, from 0.1 to 10 seconds, to avoid an abrupt start or end.
- Lower during videos: the music automatically drops when a video in the slideshow has sound (speeches, singing, laughter), then comes back up.
Confirm with Apply.
5. Sync the photos to the beat
The Beats setting analyses the track and shows the strong beats on the timeline; the playhead snaps to them, so you can make a photo change land right on the music. To adjust a whole section, select a group and use Retime duration....
What about the sound of videos?
Each video keeps its own sound, adjustable with Video volume. A video's Audio ducking option lowers all the music tracks while it plays, so you can clearly hear what's being said.
