Share and screen

Show the slideshow on the big screen during the party.

A slideshow that plays on a loop during the drinks reception or the party, and fills up with photos taken by guests as the hours go by: here's how to prepare and launch it.

The equipment

You need a computer connected to the screen or projector (usually with an HDMI cable) and an internet connection. The slideshow plays in the browser: nothing to install.

Set up playback

  1. In the editor, open Project settings.
  2. Under Playback options, tick Loop playback: the slideshow starts again by itself when it ends.
  3. Also tick Autoplay so it starts as soon as it opens.
  4. Save, then get the slideshow link from Share › Link (Open player).

On the day

  1. Open the slideshow link in the browser of the computer connected to the screen.
  2. Switch the browser to full screen: F11 on Windows, Ctrl + Cmd + F on Mac.
  3. If the slideshow has music, click Click to start: browsers require this click before playing sound.

During playback, the space bar pauses and the left and right arrow keys move from one photo to the next.

Guests' photos, live

Pair the screening with an upload link set to Auto-approve and Automatically add to slideshow. With loop playback on, photos sent during the party appear on the next loop, without reloading the page. Display the link's QR code on the tables or next to the screen so everyone can join in.

A hitch-free evening

  • Test the day before, on the same screen with the same cable, sound included.
  • Turn off sleep mode and notifications on the computer.
  • The player can run for hours without being reloaded; if the connection drops, it retries automatically.
  • Bring an extension lead and an adapter for your computer's video port.
